I ordered one of these kits in a custom size. Joseph was extraordinarily helpful during the ordering process and followed up to be sure everything went ok with the delivery and setup. Setting up the box was very easy, thank to Joseph's labeling, provision of the appropriate drill bit, etc. And the box is extremely well-made and gorgeous! Exactly what I wanted. I couldn't be happier and strongly recommend this shop.

In reply to <a href="https://josephswoodwork.com/douglas-fir-for-garden-bed/#comment-1425">Dom Theberge</a>.

Thanks for the comment, Dom. The northwest is actually where Douglas fir comes from, from what I understand. That doesn't necessarily mean anything regarding its longevity. But as I stated in the post, you simply cannot go wrong with fir for the fact that you can easily and inexpensively replace it when it finally does begin to come apart. For that reason alone, it's the best option for those with a limited budget. In any case, I'd expect you'll get 5 to 7 years of life out of it before begins to separate at the joints.

I live in the Northwest - lots of rain for 7 months. Does that change your durability statement? I understand it will not be as good as cedar, but I am thinking it may be a good option. Let me know your thoughts.. thanks

I just received my 4-Wheel Dolly from Joseph and I couldn't be more pleased. Joseph is very personable, responsive, and attentive to customer service/satisfaction. And most importantly, it is evident that he takes pride in turning out a quality work product for his clients. This company is the real deal - and a real find in a world that is hungry for money and short on what they deliver in return for it...

Woodshop layouts vary widely, reflecting the preferences and needs of the craftsmen who inhabit them. Some are spacious warehouses filled with industrial-grade machinery, catering to large-scale production and custom orders. Others are cozy workshops tucked away in basements or garages, where space is limited but creativity knows no bounds. Regardless of size, every woodshop is a reflection of its owner’s passion for woodworking, adorned with cherished tools, handmade jigs, and perhaps a few well-worn workbenches bearing the scars of countless projects.
